Everything worth knowing before you write
The format is built around the event. At a wedding Shlomo can carry the whole celebration from beginning to end, or sing only at the kabbalat panim and the chuppah — whichever suits you. When he leads the entire event, he is with you from the first minute to the last.
Both. Accompanying himself on keyboards, with additional musicians, as a lead vocalist fronting an existing band, or to backing tracks with a concert or dance programme. For weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs the live set can be combined with a DJ: you send a playlist of your favourite tracks, and after the live part the evening continues as a DJ set.
In Israel — no. Shlomo takes care of every technical detail: you don’t have to think about sound or equipment.
The client does. ACUM is the Israeli society of authors, composers and publishers: performing music at an event carries a royalty payment, and by accepted practice the host of the celebration covers it.
Abroad works differently. Shlomo travels with his own microphone and keyboard module. On site he needs sound reinforcement, a MIDI keyboard or an instrument that connects via MIDI or USB, stands and stage monitors. Travel, accommodation and meals are covered by the host. A technical and hospitality rider is sent in advance, so nothing is left open on the day.
If there is dancing, it is separate dancing with a mechitza. At a concert separate seating is not required. Shlomo shares a stage with other performers; if a female singer is on the programme, their sets do not overlap.
The fee is quoted individually: it depends on the format, the length, the line-up of musicians and the location. Tell us about your event and you will receive an exact quote.
If you already have a date in mind, write — Shlomo will check whether it is free. For private clients a deposit secures the date.
In the usual order of business: Shlomo issues a price quote (hatza’at mechir), you send a purchase order (hazmanat avoda), after the performance an invoice (drishat tashlum) is issued, and once payment is made you receive an official receipt (kabbalah).
